Ethernet operation & Collisions

Ethernet is one of the many ways devices on a local area network (LAN)  can be contacted physically.

To understand advanced Ethernet operation Of CSMA/CD :

Carrier Sense : Carrier sense is a scheme developed to provide a device on Ethernet network.

Multiple Access : Multiple Access is allowed  to all machine on Ethernet network to communicate freely long as the line is idle.

Collision Detection CSMA/CD : cllision Detection makes sure that if two devices start to transmit data at the same time.

understanding Ethernet Transmission Flowchart :

To a visualize how each of these steps works in an actual network, imagin an Ethernet network with four device, A, B, C and D. If device A intends to send a data packages to Devices D.

Types of Bridges

1. Transparent Basic Bridge

L

2. Source Routing Bridge

3. Source Routing Transparent Bridge

QUESTION :

1. how many types of bridge ?
2. How many types of Ethernet operation ?
3. What is Ethernet Collision ?

Understanding TCP/IP
TCP/IP stands for Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet protocol (IP) are two separate PC network protocol that defines a set of rules to govern communication among all devices connected to the Internet.
Commonly referred to a TCP/IP, ARP,  DNS,  HTTP,  AND ICMP.

Layers of TCP/IP reference model

Comparing TCP/IP Suite with OSI layers

There are four types of layers.

  • Application layer
  • Transport layer
  • Internet layer
  • Network Interface layer

 1. Network Interface Layer

The network interface layer or the network Access layer is responsible for transferring TCP/IP packets.

2. Internet Layer

The internet layer is responsible for accepting routing and delivering data packages.

3. Aaplication Layer

4. Transport Layer

Question :

1. How many types of layes ?
2. What is TCP/IP ?
3. What is OSI Model ?
